The Thomson Foundation The
Thomson Foundation is UK based international media for development NGO which
exists to improve communication around the world. This renowned
international media organisation is the partner of this project. Under this
project, the Thomson Foundation has key responsibilities is to develop an
Economic Journalism Training Manual that will be use in journalists
training. Beside, Thomson Foundation will provide two trainers, one is print
media and other is broadcast media who will conduct a number of journalists
training in northern region of Bangladesh. Moreover, for the first time in
Bangladesh a number of editors of the regional newspapers will visit UK for
gather knowledge and experiences on economic and trade related journalism of
Europe. The Thomson Foundation will also responsible to coordinate this UK
visit.
The Thomson Foundation mission includes: Strengthening civil society by working with partner organisations in over a hundred countries to provide information on key global issues like poverty, climate change and HIV/Aids; Working
to ensure the voice of the disadvantaged is heard: that of the poor,
children, women and marginalised groups; Fostering
balanced debate on major issues of public concern focusing on subjects like
health, environment, gender and education. The
Thomson Foundation meet their aim of achieving change and developing
capacity by working across all the mass media; identifying new areas of
work; reinforcing partnerships with people who think like us; and producing
material to support our work, for journalists and for civil society. Please
